Similar Artists - Genre Research

We liked the music video for Josh Groban's song "February Song" because throughout the video it just shows the artist playing. We probably won't do this and instead have a master shot of our artist playing and have a narrative. However, this is a nice idea and it definitely one to think about. Also we loved the filter that is used in the video (Sepia) this would be very effective in our video and it is very tempting for us to do something similar to this. Some of the angles used are very interesting and we will definitely take some inspiration from this as we will be shooting a master shot where our artist will be playing the song, and we will need to keep the viewer interested when they watch our music video.

I like the starting shot on his feet, where he walks towards his piano. This is a good idea for us to use and we will take this into consideration when planning and filming.

We liked the music video for Josh Groban's song "Don't Give Up". As it portrays him to be the voyeur overseeing people that are going through what he is singing about. We thought that this idea could strongly apply to our song and we could show people losing other people - be it through death or leaving each other in relationships.

Another video that has the artist as the voyeur overseeing other people going through what he is is singing about is Daniel Powter's "Bad Day". We like this idea of having various different vignettes that are shown throughout the video to show different stories throughout. This keeps the video interesting and means there are different scenes that the viewer can watch.
