Research on poster adverts 2

Below is an advert for Bruno Mars tour and for his album. It does not follow some of the other traits I have seen where a QR code could be used. However, it does include the image of the front cover of the album. This appears to be a very strong convention that almost all professional posters used. Therefore we shall definitely take this into account when making our own.

The poster design is in the same style as the album digipack, the same font is used for the artist name, and all of the same colours are used. This must be to give an immediate association between the poster advertisement to the album. We should certainly look into doing this. However, I do not feel it must be done as not all of the posters and digipacks I have seen do this.

The artist is once again shown in and around the centre of the poster, he is slightly to the right, but this is to give more space for a large sized font of the artist name. His sight-lines show he is looking straight at the viewer. This appears to be a conventional thing to do in this genre, as it gives an emotional link between the artist and the viewer.
